Dr. Barts has more than twenty years of experience in the development and analysis of Electromagnetic and RF systems and devices. He has experience in commercial development of antennas and in government systems, supporting DoD and intelligence customers and programs. Most recently he has supported the JCREW program with measurements and modeling of near-earth RF propagation for both system development and test and evaluation.
Prior to joining GreenWave Scientific, Dr. Barts worked at Applied Research Associates where he led programs in RF propagation measurements to support EW testing and evaluation (T&E) for CREW systems. He also worked with TSWG in evaluating electronic countermeasures systems for use by US bomb squads. He previously worked at Aerospace Corporation providing RF design and analysis support for DoD and intelligence community national asset systems. He was also on the research faculty of Virginia Tech where he helped establish the Virginia Tech Antenna Group and Antenna Laboratory. At Virginia Tech, he led numerous research efforts for government and industrial customers in the areas of antennas, EME, and RF propagation. One of these antenna programs was for developing a reduced size helical antenna, which resulted in a patent for his work. His previous work experience also includes positions at Andrew Corporation, Litton Poly-Scientific, and Stanford Telecommunications. |
